Plot: A group of kids must protect their vacation home from invading aliens.

Directors: Schultz John

Actors: Butler Austin Robert,Hoffman Robert,Jenkins Carter,Meadows Tim,Nealon Kevin,Richter Andy,Young Henri,Young Regan,Adventure,Fantasy,

Whats up with all the Alien movies?
ok in 2009 so far there has been so many movies about aliens to name a few District 9, The fourth Kind ,Avatar ,Aliens in the Attic, moon,Alien Trespass , (9),Astro Boy,Planet 51, knowing & even monsters vs Aliens for the kids, my question is do you think all this media on Aliens is trying to get use to the idea?

As Star Trek said: "Space, the final frontier".

Once you’ve done monsters and serial killers and demons, what else is there? Aliens, of course.

Terry the Klown | Nov 01, 2009

Relax, it is just the theme for this year. Last year I think it was super heroes.
The Killing Gene | Nov 01, 2009

Yes, I feel that way. I also find it interesting that for many years now Aliens have been portrayed as friendly and not so bad as we thought. It’s like they were trying to educate people and kids for an encounter in the future. I wonder if it is actually a plan for that because it is a coincidence that more and more people now have recorded UFOs in the sky and seen strange things in space. I believe all these movies will actually help people be less afraid of a contact with an alien civilization when it takes place…
Raymond | Nov 01, 2009

I think the recent bad times may have pushed people a little to be more spiritual, as well as all the news about the Mayan calender ending in 2012. Anytime you can increase the spirituality of people, its a good thing.

As for aliens & UFOs, take a look at these paintings from the middel ages. Do you think UFOs are for real?

Hellraiser
Hellraiser (1987)

IMDB rating: 6.70

Plot: Clive Barker’s feature directing debut graphically depicts the tale of a man and wife who move into an old house and discover a hideous creature – the man’s half-brother, who is also the woman’s former lover – hiding upstairs. Having lost his earthly body to a trio of S&M demons, the Cenobites, he is brought back into existence by a drop of blood on the floor. He soon forces his former mistress to bring him his necessary human sacrifices to complete his body… but the Cenobites won’t be happy about this.

Directors: Barker Clive

Actors: Robinson Andrew,Chapman Sean,Smith Oliver,Hines Robert,Allen Anthony,Davis Leon,Cassidy Michael,Baker Frank,Nelson Kenneth,Buggy Niall,Atkins Dave,Parker Oliver,Horror,Fantasy,

Am I the only one that disliked Hellraiser?
In all honesty I found it tedious, slow, and boring. The characters were underdeveloped, the premise was unconvincing, and the film was tediously paced. It also had some false advertising. I expected the film to based around Pinhead, yet I get some unpromising love story about an unfaithful woman. While the film wasn’t terrible, I’m shocked at how many people liked this movie. I do admit the film had some great gore, but still.

it wasn’t like other horror movies, and that’s why so many people love it. it IS slow and the most terrifying thing isn’t in the movie til the end. but that restraint is exactly why it appeals to some people (me included). I don’t disagree with you (especially false advertising. it shouldn’t be billed or reviewed like other slasher films), but wait a few years and try it again. Most of the appeal is from the fact that it’s so unique, unexpected and subversive.

LilyRT | Oct 30, 2009

when I first saw it, i felt the same way. I mean, all i knew of it BEFORE i saw it…was Pinhead…and he is in the movie for like 8 minutes. . .I couldn’t believe this movie had such a cult following. The movie was decent, but not great … and def not worth MORE movies…

i haven’t seen any of the other ones, but I can only assume they are MUCH better and have a lot more Pinhead in them, otherwise I have NO IDEA how that movie got so big.

You are def right, it is a good movie for what it is. . . but I expected a lot more scare/gore…not a love story and a creepy little toy box.
john n | Oct 30, 2009

LOL I am sure you are not the only one, but I love the Hellraiser films. When the 1st film came out the focus was not on Pinhead but since the films are older now and that is what people associate the films with so go into it believing the 1st one is about him, which it isn’t. He became more of focus later on when producers realized the audience liked him. I love a horror film with an "out" which basically means (to me) you have no reason to be scared because everyone is killed for a reason, the cenobites only come for you if you call them which makes them much different than other horror villains, they aren’t bad they are just doing their job. I like that.

Also the box is really cool. lol.

blackmoore ammonia poisoning/gill flukes?
hi

my goldfish (a black moore) has been opening and closing his mouth and laying on his side for about a day
his gills are very red and look inflamed
he’s currently in a 10 gallon tank
ive changed the water and added ammonia xtinguisher
my ammonia test kit says there is no ammonia but it expired a year ago
he currently has no plants in the tank
i think my roommate messed up the water cycle when she cleaned his tank, she also broke apart a weeklong feeding stone thing into powder and it settled in the pebbles. this was a couple of weeks ago

im thinking that this is ammonia poisoning but im not sure, is there anything else that i can do to try and save my fish?
His water is very cloudy and filled with particles… his filter pulls him into the vents, i don’t want to stress him out too much so i turned it off. He has to fight against the current it makes. I also have an air pump but I turned that off too. Is this a good idea?

Should I transfer him? I know that the water is very hard, is there anything I can do about that? Thanks.
He is 5 years old

Do a 50% water change, and put Tap Water Conditioner in the new water. Also, put about 6 shelled peas (raw) in the tank. They are very helpful for numerous instances when fish are ill. Just squeeze the pea open and feed the inside of the pea, only, not the skin. In a couple of days, do another water change, plus Tap Water Conditioner. Peas, also, if still sick.

Could you have TEXAS VS TCU in the BCS Championship Game?
Friday November 27th 2009, 18:10

Right now Alabama is losing to Auburn. IF Alabama loses to Auburn and then beats Fla in the SEC Championship Game, would that put Texas and TCU in the Championship game.
Could happen. Two Texas teams in the BCS championship game.

It is possible but I don’t know if it is going to happen. If Auburn were to beat Alabama, I don’t think they have a shot of beating Florida.

why did i lose my job?
so i was working waitressing at this resturant for about 5 months and im 16 so then in summer i went with my dad for two weeks to visit all my family in another city but i gave over two weeks notice and when i got back i called my boss to say that i was back in town and that whenever they needed me i was available to work . but after that i would always call back and they said the schedual was full and they didnt know when they could fit me in . and this went on for a few weeks … so then they call me and say that it hasnt really been busy there since after summer and they didnt know if they needed me now cause its hard enough having everyone else in the schedual . but they always had young girls like a bit older than me working but then they all left and they hired all older woman . so what happened?

They hired people who didn’t disappear on unscheduled vacation.

Yes, it’s nice you went with your dad.
Yes, it’s nice that you told them 2 weeks ahead of time that you’d be gone for 2 weeks.
But, you didn’t let them decide if you could have the time off. You just went.
the tax lady | Nov 23, 2009

First off, you have to understand that, in most situations, there is a high turnover rate for waitresses. In other words, don’t take it personally!

Good managers are rightly interested in having their operations run as smoothly as possible. That could include having waitresses on the roster that are always available to him or her. It is possible that your co-workers were simply more available than you.

There are other possibilities you should consider. You said the other waitresses are older than you, which typically means more experienced. It could be that things run more smoothly with veteran servers as opposed to newbies in the work force.

And finally, on the bright side, it could just really be that business slowed down! If the need isn’t there to keep another waitress on the payroll for the time being, then it just makes good business sense to let someone go, at least for a little while. If one person had to be let go, then it probably made the most sense to get rid of the 16 year old that went on a two week vacation and that probably doesn’t need those tips as much as the older ladies do.

As I said.. don’t stress. It was probably nothing personal.. and you have PLENTY of time to spend working! Have fun now! Good luck! <3
