(Mac cosmetics) Back to Mac…Can you bring back the cardboard boxes?
I heard about Back to Mac. If you bring in 6 containers with the little back to mac symbol, you can get a free lipstick. Do the cardboard boxes that the product comes in count? They have the little symbol… I hope it works because I have 6!

 Superman Returns (2006)
IMDB rating: 6.90
Plot: After eliminating General Zod & the other Kryptonian arch-villains, Ursa & Non, Superman leaves Earth to try to find his former home world of Krypton after astronomers have supposedly found it. When he finds nothing but remnants, he returns home to Earth – to find out that Lois Lane is engaged to a relative of his boss, and that Lex Luthor is at it again – after swindling an elderly, terminally ill woman. The psychopathic Luthor, whose plans to destroy California failed because of Superman’s heroics, vows vengeance against the Man of Steel and contrives a new sinister plot – using the crystals of Krypton to build a continent that will wipe out most of North America! Embedded in the continent’s structure is Kryptonite – the lethal substance that is Superman’s only weakness. Upon learning of Luthro’s sinister scheme, Superman must again race against time to stop the psychopathic Luthor before millions – possibly billions – are killed.

Trying to find superhero movies that aren't too graphic or scary.?
My daughter is starting to grow out of the cartoony movies, last night she watched superman returns and loved it. So I’m trying to find good hero movies that won’t scar her for life. (She’s only 5) Any idea’s? I thought about the batman series, but I’m not sure if it will be too much for her or not

Dustin | Jan 09, 2010
The old Superman movies ( 1 & 2) were far better than Superman Returns, IMO. Spiderman might be ok. The new Batman movies are definitely too scary, but even the Tim Burton ones might be scary as well (also they were violent). But perhaps the 60’s campy Batman might be fun for her. The X-men movies she will probably enjoy.
infinitysbane | Jan 09, 2010
lol…I was about to say Superman Returns before I read your DETAILS…but hmmm. Batman is too rough. Lots of people getting hurt (gratuitous violence). Maybe try the X-Men movies. I don’t remember anything too scary in those, but that depends on your daughter, doesn’t it? lol
Spiderman might be OK, but she might bget a bit scared by the bad guy (The Goblin)
Here’s a photo of the Goblin…he might look a bit scary to a 5 year old and he has a scary voice, but kids usually love Spidey.

ORIGINAL BATMAN!!!!! BEST MOVIE EVER!!
ITZ!!COLIN!! | Jan 09, 2010
I would recommend watching the first Batman movie, Batman: The Movie. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060153/) besides being the best one it’s also the least graphic and scary. I wouldn’t let my kid see the newest two batman movies: Batman Begins and Dark Knight though. Those two make Batman sketchy and would definitely be scary for children and the movies themselves don’t send the right message. the 2-5 would be ok to watch too, they just aren’t as good as the first one.

 Lean on Me (1989)
IMDB rating: 7.10
Plot: An extraordinary situation calls for an extraordinary solution. At strife-torn Eastside High School in Paterson, New Jersey, that solution had a name: Principal “Crazy Joe” Clark. With a bullhorn in one hand and a baseball bat in the other, he slammed the door on losers at Eastside. Brought in as a last resort to stop the state government from taking control of the school, Clark chained the doors shut to keep troublemakers OUT and achievers IN. Parents fought him. Teachers resented him. Even his own boss doubted him. But lots of kids loved him. Clark turned Eastside around, appearing on the cover of “Time Magazine” and becoming a national symbol of tough-love education. “If you don’t succeed in life,” Clark tells his students, “don’t blame your backgrounds. Don’t blame the Establishment. Blame YOURSELVES.” His message is simple: Don’t lean on excuses, drugs, crime, or anger. LEAN ON ME…and learn.

What should i do, stuck between two guys?
so the other night me and my friend, Jake, were at our other friends sleepover b-day party. Jake is "gay" and i had asked him out before but he shot me down right away. i was sitting next to him on the couch and he poked me and whispered "i think i’m bi." Nothing else was said the rest of the night but i kept leaning on him while we were all watching a movie. The next day me and him left together and went for a walk. I questioned him why the sudden change but he said he didnt know just that "i like you but i didnt lie before when i said no." Im so confused, the worse part is he seems really shy and its kinda awkward now between us.
I’m still friends with Jakes exfriend Rob too. Everytime Rob comes around to talk to me, when i’m standing around my friends and Jake, Jake gets really weird like he wont leave but he will kinda pace around the group. I met Jake from being friends with Rob. Rob and me like each other too, so i’ve been going after Rob recently cause Jake turned me down and i never thought he would actually change his mind since the main point he kept saying was he really liked boys. I stay up at Rob’s house sometimes to watch movies and i do kiss him but when either of us asks "what are we exactly?" both of us just answer i dont know. Even though it probably looks like we are dating or something.
so i dont know what to do. Their like complete opposites. Jake always seems more shy and like he has no confidence and Rob isn’t nervous towards anyone.
Rob isn’t using me. We did try to date before but he gets way too busy. He’s the kinda person that likes helping everyone with their problems and he has admitted he is afraid of commitment since the girl he was really close to broke his heart cause he has cancer and she was too immature to realize not everything was about her in their relationship.
okaii im not an expert buuutt i really hope this helps…?
first of all if you really like Rob let him know and dont let him just use you.. for all you know he might not only be kissing you but maybe some other girls and sweetie dont let him do that Show rob that you respect yourself and that he should rspect u as well and take useriously or just tell him to stop messin with your head an possibly head. and about jake… if something is going to happen it will just hapen before u kno it.. give each other sometime that way he can figure out if he is really gay or bi.. =] hope i wasnt to harsh…

 Little Ashes (2008)
IMDB rating: 7.30
Plot: In 1922, Madrid is wavering on the edge of change as traditional values are challenged by the dangerous new influences of Jazz, Freud and the avant-garde. Salvador Dali arrives at the university; 18 years old and determined to become a great artist. His bizarre blend of shyness and rampant exhibitionism attracts the attention of two of the university’s social elite – Federico Garcia Lorca and Luis Bunel. Salvador is absorbed into their youthfully decadent group and for a time Salvador, Luis and Federico become a formidable trio, the most ultra-modern group in Madrid. However as time passes, Salvador feels and increasingly strong pull towards the charismatic Federico – who is himself oblivious of the attentions he is getting from his beautiful writer friend, Magdalena. In the face of his friends’ preoccupations – and Federico’s growing renown as a poet – Luis sets off for Paris in search of his own artistic success. Federico and Salvador spend the holiday in the sea-side town of Cadaques. Both the idyllic surroundings and the warmth of the Dali family sweep Federico off his feet. Salvador and Frederico draw closer, sharing their deepest beliefs, inspirations and secrets, convinced that they have found a kind of friendship not dreamed of by others. It is more that a meeting of the minds; it is a fusion of souls.

Where can I buy the book "Cuentos Folkloricos de Puerto Rico by Ricardo E. Alegria (1969)?
When I was a child my grand-mother used to read this book to me. It has so many good folktales. I will really love for my son to hear a little of our puertorican folklore. Also if some one knows of a book with a lot of Juan Bobo’s adventures I will appreciate the info.
I live in NYC if anyone knows of a book store that has it.
I found a copy online at amazon…. However searching for it by the actual title didn’t work initially as the Amazon database misspelled the title
However, that was a fun challenge… LOL!
Only $39.99
I’ve seen rare books go for much more, but that is still a little too steep a price for me.

I know it’s hard to do, but if you totally ignore those people (and I use that term loosely) they won’t get any pay off for it. I’m serious, act like you have hearing loss. They’ll move on to someone else.
TexasRiverRat | Feb 04, 2010
If you don’t let them know they are bothering you, they will get bored. They are only picking on you for attention and to try to make themselves seem funny or cool. The truth is that they are just as unsure about themselves as everyone else is at your age. It is okay to talk to a school administrator about this if you feel it is more than you can deal with. Most schools are becoming less tolerant about bullying.
LTV | Feb 04, 2010
people make fun of people becasue they are insecure and need to feel better about themselves and want people to think they are just plain hilarious even though they are really assholes. dont pay ANY attention to these people becasue them not being your friend isnt your loss. just be strong and stand tall and know your not who they say you are. swittching schools might help or getting some1 else involved. i really hope things get better

they will. school is such a short amount of time it will all be over soon just get through it. religion has always helped me get through dificult situation

Sights you don't have to zero?
Me and my dad go hunting regularly, and use telescopic sights. Is there a formula for always zeroing it correctly, or sights that don’t need zeroing, because you need to shoot to see if it is correctly zeroed, and then the animal runs off……………… So, a formula for zeroing, a scope that won’t require it?
No.
You may get lucky and have open sights that are correctly zeroed from the factory, but any scope that you put on will have to be sighted in. And even if you buy a package that came with a scope mounted, they only boresight them at the factory. You will still have to dial in precise adjustments.
There are certain techniques to sight in different calibers and rifles for elevation, but they differ depending on what you are shooting.
MJ | Jan 27, 2010
Facts of Life, all scopes need to be zeroed. The only formula is that most folks set 2 inches high at 100 yards, and limit range to 250 yards, for "close enough" dead-on hold, under seat-of-the-pants field conditions.
larry | Jan 27, 2010
Duh?……….I didn’t fall for it.
John S, BaC | Jan 27, 2010
there is no formula
you have to sight them
i personaly think the boar sighter is the best way to go just keep your gun on saftey when you sight because if acciedently shoot your barrel will be a flower of metal(a rather rare flower if i di say so myself)
a boar sighter is a laser that you put in the end of your barrel and you have to sight your cross hairs to the little red dot on what your aiming at
babybuhda | Jan 27, 2010
you don’t need to zero your scopes. At least you don’t if you never shoot them, just leave them in the gun rack.
There is no such thing as a ‘Zero free" telescopic sight.
To hit your target you must ensure that the reticule of the scope is looking at the place the bullet impacts.
Scopes are somewhat delicate, a bump or jar can cause the reticule to drift off zero. An intelligent and ethical hunter will be certain his scope is properly zeroed before he goes on a hunt.
Only on fixed sighted firearms do you not have to zero the sights. In that instance you have to zero the ammunition. Fixed sighted firearms are regulated to put a bullet of a certain weight and velocity into the point of aim at a particular range. If you don’t know what load the weapon is regulated with, you will have to experiment with bullet weight, velocity and range until you find it.
Zeroing a scope is much easier.
Doc
Doc Hudson | Jan 27, 2010
As long as you have a decent scope, not some piece of trash that was made for a BB gun or something, you should only have to zero it once. You’re talking about a hunting rifle, not a sniper rifle. It would only need to be re-zeroed if you took it off the gun and re-mounted it or had it bumped really hard, or switched to a totally different type of ammo. There is no formula for zeroing. Shoot 3 shots at a target, see where they hit, then move the scopes adjustments in the direction you want the bullet to go. The instructions are right there on the scope. I’m going to assume this is a fake question. Since if you went hunting "regularly" you should already know that.
J | Jan 27, 2010
I’m a little confused by your question do you mean does a scope have to be sighted in[YES] or do you mean how to zero in at different distances after a scope is sighted in? If the later, no one can answer unless the know the caliber you are shooting and the calibration of your scope. ie 1 click = 1/4" at 100 yards[the norm], 1 click equals 1/2" at 100 yards, etc. A bore sighter only puts you on the paper it does not sight your firearm in, you must do this manually by fireing your rifle and making adjustments of your scope. NEVER put a bore sighter in a loaded firearm!
David A | Jan 27, 2010
Yes, there is a formula.
You typically sight your hunting rifle in at 200 yards. This way it is always three inches high at 100 yards and three inches low at 300 yards for most all centerfire rifle calibers. The difference is less with a magnum.
Next – you go out and buy a bore sighter. This way you test your scope the day you sight it in and note what it is on the X-Y axis. (when you look though the bore sighter your scope will be so many block high and low, left and right). You write this down. Then a few months later when you need to verify your scope is ok – or after your buddy has dropped the rifle – can you measure it. And, you can return it where it should be.
Hope this helps
Glacierwolf | Jan 27, 2010
Scopes are zeroed. It is the attachment between the scope and rifle that needs zeroed. I hope you understand.
mack_9 | Jan 27, 2010
