suggest ideas for a comps sci student.?
I’m doing my 2nd year engineering in computers science. I am pretty good with C programming and data structures. I am learning C++ and Java now. I am also learning about data mining.
So can anyone suggest any other things i may look into? or learn or can i try any project works or anything. What other things can i try to do to improve myself technically?

Have you tried interfacing with a database such as MySQL?

As you know C,C++ and doing Java too.All you are doing is the best.and c,c++ is the base of all languages. If you want to do more then learn database too.And don’t forget to do certification of all the courses you are doing. It will be very beneficial for you.

You should look into learning about reverse engineering. You would need to combine your c/c++ skills and a general understanding of ASM code, but it will teach you a lot about executable file structure and system architecture. Its not illegal in most cases, and its a marketable skill that most programmers do not have.

Why don’t you try for back end i.e. database related like Oracle or SQL server.
