SerendipitySerendipity (2001)

IMDB rating: 6.60

Plot: Jonathan Trager and Sara Thomas met while shopping for gloves in New York. Though buying for their respective lovers, the magic was right and a night of Christmas shopping turned into romance. Jon wanted to explore things further but Sara wasn’t sure their love was meant to be. They decided to test fate by splitting up and seeing if destiny brought them back together… Many years later, having lost each other that night, both are engaged to be married. Still, neither can shake the need to give fate one last chance to reunite them. Jon enlists the help of his best man to track down the girl he can’t forget starting at the store where they met. Sara asks her new age musician fiance for a break before the wedding and, with her best friend in tow, flies from California to New York hoping destiny will bring her soulmate back. Near-misses and classic Shakespearean confusion bring the two close to meeting a number of times but fate will have the final word on whether it was meant to be.

Can anyone help me out on this?
So I’ve been thinking about a tattoo for probably a year now and just recently I’ve been thinking up ideas. So far I’ve got –

Believe
Have Heart
No day but today
Wake your dreams
All you need is love
Dream
Truth
Heavy is the crown/Heavy lies the crown
Rest not until life is complete
Give me wings
Let me fly
Catch me when I fall
Serendipity

I’m stuck between all of those ideas, because I wanna get this tattoo on my wrist and I DEFINITELY can’t get it if it’s gonna be one of the long ones. Can you help me out on the decision? Please don’t tell me not to get a tattoo or something. I’ve been giving it a lot of decision and beside that, most of the choices I’ve cut down to have meaning. So help me out? thanks. :] Also, if you wanna say something, ’cause you just want the two points.. leave a punctuation mark or something. Keep your rudeness level low and your maturity level high. Deal?

I like "All you need is love", "No day but today", and "Serendipity". The first two because The Beatles and Rent are, and forever will be, pure awesome. The third because it’s a fantastic word, full of whimsy and beauty. If you get one of the longer ones, consider turning it, so it’s parallel with your arm, and perpendicular to your wrist, and you can split it up into two lines, if needed.

Believe

or
Truth
allieeeee! | Oct 30, 2009

If I was to do one of theses I would go with either:
Believe
All You Need Is Love
Christopher | Oct 30, 2009

i would suggest dream one one wrist and believe on the other one.

I like TRUTH. I have FAITH and a symbol on the inside of my left wrist and LIVE (symbol) LEARN on the outside of my right wrist.

Sidewalks of New York – DivX Version (Normal Quality), DVD (Good Quality), PDA Version

Sidewalks of New YorkSidewalks of New York (2001)

IMDB rating: 6.50

Plot: Six New Yorkers have an interrelated series of relationships. TV producer Tommy, who’s just broken up with his girlfriend, has a short relationship with commitment-phobe Maria, who he meets in a video store, and also hooks up with married real-estate agent Annie, who he meets while apartment hunting. Annie is open to a relationship because her husband, Griffin, is cheating on her, which she slowly comes to realize through talking to her friend/co-worker who’s gone through the same thing. Griffin, a 39-year-old dentist, is cheating with 19-year-old waitress Ashley, who he picked up in a park; she realizes she can do better when Ben, a hotel doorman and aspiring musician, tries to pick her up, in a belated attempt to recover from his divorce a year ago from schoolteacher Maria (the same Maria from the video store). Most of these relationships seem driven more by a desperate need to be in a relationship than actual love.

What do you think of this poem?
Life was clear as I ran through the green solemn grass,

chasing crickets until I fell into piled autumn leaves,

delightfully tossing them into the air until the soft powdery snow covered my bright red nose.

Now I know the sea calls home his crystal waves to moan

Tragically I had forgotten time’s dishonesty,

Thus I am left here grown, cold and alone.

Memories soon perish away into reminiscence

as my pale face stares out at the busy nighttime streets;

My apartment grows near,

and it’s emptiness is my asylum.

But, for now I remain counting sidewalk squares below poorly lit lampposts which always seem wet,

hopelessly shuffling in my jacket pockets in desperation for a fictional cigarette.

I know I am my own abrader,

this I will not refute.

Too scream into a hallow shell and have its echoes ricochet off your heart is tiresome,

and past recollections only increase its momentum.

The New York streets don’t help my cause,

Such animosity and loathing rattles me with its continuous barrage.

Finally home, tired and sick,

I notice not a tear cascades down my face as I swallow the pills.

Farewell childhood ghosts,

I am your captor no longer, watch me smile until the bottle spills.

it’s almost too descriptive .. take away some of the imagery. it got kind of repetitive. no offense, but revise it a bit. good luck.

To much imagery. It sounds almost robotic to a point, even though i know the emotion is down there. I liked your 4th line, it was vivid.
Decent poem.

I really like this poem. It seems as if you’re capturing the image of death. Very emotional I must add. Everything is great except that there is no rhythm nor rhyme making it Free Verse. This is not a good impression on critics as they consider it more of prose rather than poetry.

Can I also know why did you write this poem? Could you please answer me on my e-mail: irfan_helmy_95@yahoo.com
