depending on breed and care, average 11-20 years

i cant see ur pic but if hes a yorke, shetzue,or terrier he will live for 14 years in human years.

I had a lab/pit bull mix and she lived for 10 years. I loved her so much and it was the hardest thing to see her go. But she’s in a better place now. She had aggressive invasive cancer and that’s what killed her. She would’ve lived longer, but the tumor ruptured and killed her in less than 24 hours. My aunt’s dog is a daschund, and she lived for about 16-17 years! It just depends on their health I think!
~*Cheyanne's Mama*~ 11-3-09 | Nov 20, 2009

The picture didn’t work, but the length of his life has many factors. Large dogs live to be about 10 at best, and smaller dogs more in the 15 year range. It also depends on how healthy he is. Overweight dogs die sooner. I had a Belgian Sheepdog mix that lived to be 14, a GSD mix that lived to be 8, a Beagle that lived to be 14, and my latest two will be 3 next month.
Salty Boy | Nov 20, 2009

A Jack Russel can live for 18 years if you are lucky.
A labrador 12 (usually arthritis gets them)
My little chap only lasted 3 before a car mowed him down.

If you want a pet that lasts a long time get a turtle and move to the Reunion Islands – they will outlive you.
Louise | Nov 20, 2009

Your link doesn’t work.

My last dog (a German Shepherd mix) lived for 14 years, and I had a Lab who made it to 16 years. Smaller dogs tend to live longer than larger ones. If your dog is only 2, you should have him around for a good while yet. Make sure he gets regular vet care.
daa | Nov 20, 2009

With love and care they can live up to 14 years, provided they don’t get a disease which sometimes cannot be helped.
Pipertini | Nov 20, 2009

Too many variables to say. Your link doesn’t work.
Bobbie L | Nov 20, 2009

It all depends on the breed, the food they eat, their enviornment, how active they are, if they have any medical conditions… there are a lot of factors. Same for human lives. There’s no telling which dog will live to be how old. But hopefully your pup lives a long, happy life! I can relate – my dog is definitely my four legged kid.
Apecicle | Nov 20, 2009

the link to the dog’s picture did not work

how long dogs live varies depending on the size, breed, diet, and care they receive

most dogs given a decent diet, regular exercise, and good medical attention when they need it should live 8-10 years at least

one english springer spaniel i had lived 17 years. his internal organs were still in good shape. but he had gone deaf, was developing cataracts in his eyes, and his rear legs could no longer support him when he would relieve himself. putting him down was one of the hardest things i have ever had to do

How do you pay the $15-$20 for a bag at the airport?
Does anyone out there know how you pay the $15 to check a piece of luggage at an airport? I’m leaving Friday at noon to go to Florida for a wedding where I’m the maid of honor. So obviously, I have to check my suitcase because I have so much stuff to take. I’ve flown probably a hundred times in my life before, but usually stand-by so I don’t normally check luggage. I heard somewhere that you HAVE to pay with a card to check the bag? Is that correct? I don’t plan on taking a card with me at all on the trip, just cash (long story about why I’m not taking a card). but I’m nervous that they won’t let me check the bag because I don’t have a card with me. Is this right? Or do they accept cash?

Anybody got an answer?

P.S. I’m flying Delta, if that helps.

When you check in your bags, they weigh them and then they say
" That’ll be $____ " (whatever your amt is).

I would call the airline, Im assuming cash would work !
Ive always used a credit card, as I didnt want to spend my spending cash.

I never leave home without a credit card. You dont know what might happen. Im not a credit card person at all…except when I travel. I dont want to get stranded without available resources for escape.
queen of answers | Nov 18, 2009

I pre-payed online, you also save about 5 dollars pre-checking in your bags and paying for them online before arriving to the airport. If your bags go over-weight than they will just charge you the difference either on the card you already paid with since it is on file or their at check in. Hope this is helpful
miss amanda | Nov 18, 2009

Check Delta’s web site–many carriers are no longer accepting cash (as it is automated).

Girl playing hard to get, how do I respond?
I have recently been smitten after this girl in my neighborhood. She’s 12, and I’m 54. I’ve sent her flowers, written her love poems in the mail, IMed her, picked her up from school for ice cream (albeit a little against her will) and even sneaked into her bedroom to snuggle with her at night. But she’s been playing hard to get; yesterday she called me a "stalker" and a "creep" and told me never to come over to her house again. She even refused a kiss. Her father seems to also be weighing my determination; he has knocked on my door and threatened to shoot me if I come near his house again, and yesterday, he posted a restraining order on my door. What do I do to up my game with this chick?

You put you were 43 on your last question, now your 52?
Wow,you age quickly!!

Do you really think that Floyd Gayweather is really scared of Manny Pacquiao?
I really think that Floyd Gayweather is really scared of Manny Pacquiao. He just tries to hide it by being proud or should I say overly arrogant. Disgustingly he creates alibis by saying that he don’t want a fifty2x share on the money for his possible fight with Pacquiao because he thinks he deserves more "I think that’s so GAYish of him" I mean what more should he ask for? I used to think that Mr. "Money" Gayweather walks the talk. This time is the greatest challenge of his career and He’s got to walk though it with his "pretty face" undefeated not just talk though his narcissistic ass. The bottom line is Floyd Mayweather FEARS the PACMAN because Mayweather has it on his mind that Pacquiao could be the first person in the planet who has the means to beat him and Gayweather is afraid of loosing coz all he does is boast about his success and he never want’s to get his ass beaten because that’s where his money exits. "He’s sooooo damn gay and he fu*kn hides it by talking proud"

After watching the Cotto fight?

Hell yeah!

He doesn’t have the arsenal to hurt Manny. He may have the skill to avoid him and his punches but knowing Pacman’s punch output in every fight, some of it will land plush on the Gayweather.

Pac on the other hand has the more speed and more power than Floyd.

Simple and obvious truth by now.

Simply T | Nov 15, 2009

we will see, if mayweather fought cotto he go to the decision.
manny stopped cotto.
manny got speed , power but i dnt know i can see mayweather just defending throughout all the fight
Jolly | Nov 15, 2009

After tonight, even Floyd knows he won’t be able to avoid this fight. There will be too much pressure. I don’t think he is scared of Manny, but just afraid to lose.
Kobra Status | Nov 15, 2009

He is not afraid of Manny he is just afraid of his future and destiny because it is 100% sure he is going to lose to Manny except if the judges will have other plans!
Chevalier de La Barre | Nov 15, 2009

Manny is just as fast if not faster, he has power to hurt anyone(Zab Judah made Floyd’s glove hit the ground but the judges didn’t see it, and plus Pacquiao DROPPED a guy with a really solid chin(Cotto of course) twice and almost a few other times), he can take quite a punch(Cotto landed two really hard left hooks on Manny and Manny shook them off and clobbered Cotto), and Pacquiao’s quick footwork, movement, and insane punching angles create problems for anyone. I know Mayweather seems to have superior defense but that defense was once exploited by Zab Judah, and that defense has also never seen anything close to a Pacquiao type offense..Pacquiao has great defense himself.Team Pacquiao all the way.. all the Filipinos in the house better pull their coks out and say come and get it Gayweather..i know thats what im about to do..Pinoy Power in this bitchh
ucxsundae | Nov 15, 2009

Ok Mayweathers (Sr. Jr. and Roger) what time is it?

Its time to do the chicken dance…….. the pussy dance…….. and to start shitting your pants.

"Floyd Jr. Will whoop manny, but if you ask me, I dont want him to take this fight cause it aint right, I aint gonna tell you the reason, go figure that one out."
-Mayweather Sr.

Hahahaha if that does not sound like a man who is scared and making excuses, I dont know what else does?

The Mayweathers cant destroy manny on the ring, so now they are gonna try to destroy him off the ring. They are going to accuse manny now of taking some performance enhancer that nobody even knows if it exists, or perhaps practicing some voodoo.

Thats right Mayweathers, talking sh!t! The more you talk sh!t the more the world sees who is the real Fraud here.
dragnei | Nov 15, 2009

i don’t think so . pacquiao is the fastest boxer alive . mayweaher is like if pacqiao has 100 agility (pacquiao is wind property ninja) . then mayweather is 80 agility (earth property ninja) but he may have 20 earth and add 600 to his health points . so, its a tough match . two ninja boxers clashing to legacy .
Je | Nov 15, 2009

I bet he was hiding in his 1500 square foot closet with the lights off pissing his pants last night after watching Pacman soundly dismantle Cotto. He is a coward and a jack_ss. Manny Pacquiao is just truly amazing!

I am invited to my best friends reception but not the ceremony?
My best friend is getting married a few months before me, she is my maid of honor in my own wedding. I recently received the invitation and she has invited me to her reception but not the ceremony. I’m feeling pretty hurt, especially given the fact I’ve not only helped her find the perfect place for her wedding, but also helped her find the perfect dress. I have always been supportive of her, and now I’m feeling a little used. I wish I could talk to her about how I feel, but I know that might ruin everything for her. How should I respond or deal with this? Has anyone had this happen to them?

Did she forget to invite you, or are you sure she just straight up didnt invite you?

If she forgot, give her a break, you should know, a wedding is a hectic hectic time.

If she just didnt invite, is it because its a small family only ceremony? or is she a bitch?

if its the latter, i say drop her from your wedding in FULL , and see how she likes it.
anthony | Nov 13, 2009

It is probably a "Family-Only Wedding", my Uncle had one. The only people there were his 2 kids and bride.
Matt | Nov 13, 2009

You should bring this up to her. Calmly tell her how you feel. Who knows, it could be a mistake, if it’s not, I’m sure she has a good explanation.

PS Congrats on the wedding!
The Other Girl | Nov 13, 2009

it has never happened to me…so i cant tell you what i did, but i can tell you what i would do…i would talk about wedding stuff. you know…food, cake, who’s the best men. then who’s the maid of honor you never know it could just be a small wedding…or maybe her sister is it. i think you should deal with it by thinking, although im her good friend, friends don’t pick the people in the weddings, the bride and groom do.
Makayla | Nov 13, 2009

Maybe the ceremony is strictly family. If it is not then just mention innocently that you would have liked to be invited to the ceremony. This will give your friend an opportunity to explain why you were not invited.
Another possibility is that your friend has delegated the sending of invitations to someone else (maybe a member of the family) and there has been a mix up or misunderstanding.
Steve K | Nov 13, 2009

That’s weird. Is she getting married in an LDS temple or something? (non-members can’t attend those ceremonies) Honestly, I would ask her for clarification. I mean she is your BFF, you should be able to at least ask for clarification.

"Jane, my invitation says I’m invited to the reception but not the wedding itself. Is that correct?"
"Yes. That is correct."
"Okay, just making sure I’m reading this right."

If the above is REALLY what she wants, to be dead honest, I don’t know how I would respond. I get the feeling that I probably would not handle it gracefully.
Poppet | Nov 13, 2009

I don’t mean to sound crass, but what bothers me a little is that, even though you helped her, you assumed you were going to be invited to the ceremony.

If she is having a very private ceremony, then a bunch of people wouldn’t be invited.

Personally, I’d be more upset about being invited to the ceremony and not the reception.
Blu | Nov 13, 2009

I have a best friend who was married many years ago but did not select me as her maid of honor, but selected a new friend she had just recently met. This person was popular and flashly. It sent the message that there were some parts of my character my friend was ashamed of, particularly my shyness and soft spokenness. To seal my suspicions about this, we planned to go on a bus trip together to Coney Island. Around 3:00 am that morning when the bus was scheduled to leave, I called her to see what time she was meeting me. She then advised me she wasn’t going on the trip. I was devastated and had a miserable time by myself. Since those incidents I have forgiven her, but we have not been that close as a result. I’m still hurting. This happened when we were in our 20’s. We’ re in our sixties now.

I never spoke about my feelings to her, and kept this in my heart all these years. Don’t do as I did. Talk to her to keep the lines of communication open between you and her. It may save a friendship.
Nannie | Nov 13, 2009

There is no rudeness in having a big reception and small ceremony or vice versa, even though many people seem to think otherwise. If she is having the ceremony in a church, then the service is as open to the public as other church services. If she is having a private ceremony, then it is up to those most involved who to invite or not invite.

If you want to talk to her about this, you need a way to open the subject that doesn’t sound like you are accusing her of being mean to you. Maybe tell her how much you are looking forward to seeing photographs of the ceremony?
kill_yr_television | Nov 13, 2009

This trend of having a very ‘private’ wedding ceremony and a large reception is IMO, Bullsh!t.

If a guest is not good enough to invite to the wedding then you can’t expect them to be good enough to celebrate that wedding-AND extend a gift as well.

The reception is a thank you to all the guests who attended the wedding/ exchange of vows…NOT a gift grab. People have forgotten this fact.

selfish…selfish….selfish.

It has not happened to me because my family & friends are too polite to be so rude & gauche.

If it were me I would politely decline going to the reception. If asked I would be up front and honest…

"Since I am NOT invited to see you exchange your wedding vows, how can you expect me to celebrate the exchange of vows I am NOT allowed to witness? "

Any ‘reason’ she may give for her rudeness (family only, not enough space, small & private, etc) is just an excuse and no matter how prettily she puts it, you are being invited to the reception only for the gift.

Small private weddings get a small private receptions. Period. Only those invited to the wedding get an invite to the reception.

Sorry, it’s the truth. If Ms Bride doesn’t like it, tough toenails. Gift her with a Wedding Etiquette Book-she needs it, badly.

I wrote this when I was a noob but felt it should be posted again. Comment please?
Sometimes I write sheer drivel
in flowery well-thought out phrases
My rhymes are sublime, your smileys just shine,
like I’m a two year old who has tied her own laces.
Tactful critique given with good intentions, grace;
Benevolent tips and suggestions
Come streaming in from my peeps, showin’ me LUV
and the irony escapes their detection.
Just once I would like to see a black mark
in my margins, not another gold star-
a bit of that wit that some of you can spit…
(I know you know just who you are!)

It’s not about how prestigious and prolific the poet,
Or how sanguine and morose the poem feels;
It’s just a medium to make our thoughts known
A masquerade’s midnight Reveal.
I know the ‘greats’ and I don’t mean Whitman or Yeats,
or Longfellow, Dickinson, Poe…
I found them on YA and I saute them all
The poets that the world may never know…
They are often unclear and their rhythm is off,
Some don’t even punctuate properly,
But they opened my eyes to the wonders of the mind,
and they changed the whole world for me.
Some tell scary stories in spurts,
Some slap and stab with truth so raw it hurts,
Some grumble and glower while making us laugh;
Some just give us equations and make us do the math.
Some make poetry a masculine thing
and some give the little bird wind beneath its wings.
Some of them pretend they give nothing at all…
wish i had purtier words for Y’All….
*throws confetti, blows horn*

Keep up with the drivel! lol You have an unique style and this is a prime example of it. I would keep working on developing this style more for it is smooth to read and with twists and images, makes one think. Compliments to you.
